Come join us at the Carmel Classic Guitar Society mixers! Bring a guitar and share with us your latest endeavors, or come to the mixer and just sit back and listen to others play a variety of works on their guitars.

Previous mixers have included:

  • Guitar Idol Talent Contests.
  • Guitar Circle at the Central Avenue Bakery in Pacific Grove, featuring Peter Evans, Terrence Farrell, Gene Rezentes, Sergey Lipovetsky and Laura Shaw, and many other talented performers.
  • Fullerton Guitar Orchestra concert. Read a review and details about the performance.
  • A lecture and demonstration of Flamenco dancing by Alicia Morena de la Palma, combined with a Flamenco guitar performance by Terrence Farrell.
  • Robert McNamara playing a variety of lute music from England, Ireland and Spain.
  • Eric Walberg recounting his studying with the famed flamenco guitarist Juan Serrano.
  • Peter Evans, who shared his expertise and talents in flamenco guitar technique.
  • Guitarist and guitar builder Gil Carmal, who brought one of his newest creations with him and discussed his art with us.
  • Gene Rezentes, who has over 25 years' experience performing Classical, Jazz and Hawaiian music.
  • Classical guitarist Chris Barrios, who was recently accepted into the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
  • Guitar maker Kenny Hill. See a report about this presentation.

Our mixers -- open to members and would-be members alike -- are casual gatherings where classical guitar enthusiasts enjoy listening to and talking about the classical guitar repertoire.
