Starr Sites works closely with the customer to custom-design
and develop each web site, refining the design as necessary during the development
process. Macromedia® DreamweaverTM
is used for design and development.
Our goal is to create web sites that
- download quickly,
- are informative, interesting, attractive, and error-free,
- have clear navigation,
- are optimized for search engine rankings for critical keywords and key phrases.
Primarily for search engine considerations, we do not use splash pages or excessive
animation, and we avoid frames whenever possible.
Company logos or other illustrations can be used to set up unique images,
icons and animated GIFs. The appropriate format (GIF or JPEG) will be selected
for each image, for efficiency and appearance. Web pages can include the
capability for users to communicate with you by e-mail.
There is no charge for an initial one-hour consultation to discuss project
requirements and provide an estimate of the project scope and costs. The
number of pages, images, icons, and amount of text will vary, and a fixed-price
development cost will be determined based on the estimated amount of work.
Additional charges will apply if the scope of the project is expanded later.

- No charge at any time for correction of programming errors (if necessary).
- 6 hours of maintenance included in development package.
- $50/hour for additional maintenance.
- Domain name registration fee (optional, but strongly
recommended): normally $70 or less for first two years, $35 or less
per year for subsequent years, paid to domain registrar.
- Web hosting fees: variable, paid to Starr Sites hosting
or other web hosting service. (Typical charges for a small business
site are around $17 to $25 per month. If Starr Sites hosting is selected,
the hosting fee covers basic webmaster services such as setting up email
accounts, monitoring site activity and trouble-shooting, in addition
to hosting.)
- Maintenance charges (after the initial 6 hours of
maintenance): $50/hour, paid to Starr Sites.
