Los Medicos Voladores The Flying Doctors Monterey Bay

Los Medicos Voladores (LMV), also known as the "Flying Doctors", was founded in 1974 to provide health services and education to the people of Northern Mexico. LMV's primary purpose is to send medical teams on 4-day trips to Mexico each month. Teams include a pilot, translator, medical professional (usually MD, dentist, optometrist or chiropractor) and possibly a co-pilot or general volunteer.

Donations from individuals, companies and service organizations help members purchase medical, dental, and health care supplies, clinic equipment, and communications equipment. Donated used eyeglasses are cleaned and sorted, then delivered to Mexican residents needing glasses.

The Monterey Bay Chapter of Los Medicos Voladores (LMV) is no longer active.
